20 comandi utili delle utilità "Sysstat" (mpstat, pidstat, iostat e sar) per il monitoraggio delle prestazioni di Linux
Nel nostro ultimo articolo abbiamo imparato come installare e aggiornare il pacchetto sysstat e abbiamo capito brevemente le utilità fornite con il pacchetto.

Oggi lavoreremo con alcuni interessanti esempi pratici delle utility mpstat, pidstat, iostat e sar, che può aiutarci a identificare i problemi. Abbiamo diverse opzioni per utilizzare queste utilità, voglio dire che puoi attivare manualmente i comandi con diverse opzioni per diversi tipi di lavoro oppure puoi creare i tuoi script personalizzati in base alle tue esigenze. Sai che gli amministratori di sistema sono sempre un po' pigri e cercano sempre di trovare il modo più semplice per fare le cose con il minimo sforzo.
mpstat – Statistiche dei processori
1. Utilizzando il comando mpstat senza alcuna opzione, verranno visualizzate le attività medie globali di tutte le CPU.

2. Usando mpstat con l'opzione '-P' (Indica il numero del processore) e 'ALL', verranno visualizzate le statistiche su tutte le CPU una per una a partire da 0. 0 sarà il il primo.

pidstat: statistiche sui thread di processo e kernel
Viene utilizzato per il monitoraggio del processo e dei thread correnti, che vengono gestiti dal kernel. pidstat può anche controllare lo stato dei processi e dei thread figli.
Sintassi
pidstat <OPTIONS> [INTERVAL] [COUNT]
6. Utilizzando il comando pidstat senza alcun argomento, verranno visualizzate tutte le attività attive.

8. Utilizzando il comando pidstat con l'opzione '-d 2', possiamo ottenere statistiche I/O e 2 è l'intervallo in secondi per l'aggiornamento statistiche. Questa opzione può essere utile in situazioni in cui il tuo sistema è sottoposto a un intenso I/O e desideri ottenere indizi sui processi che consumano risorse elevate.

Qui non parlerò dell'utilità Iostat, poiché ne abbiamo già parlato. Dai un'occhiata a "Monitoraggio delle prestazioni Linux con Vmstat e Iostat" per ottenere tutti i dettagli su iostat.
sar – Reporter attività di sistema
Utilizzando il comando “sar”, possiamo ottenere rapporti sulle prestazioni dell'intero sistema. Questo può aiutarci a individuare il collo di bottiglia del sistema e fornire aiuto per trovare soluzioni a questi fastidiosi problemi di prestazioni.
Il kernel Linux mantiene internamente alcuni contatori, che tengono traccia di tutte le richieste, il loro tempo di completamento e il conteggio dei blocchi I/O ecc. Da tutte queste informazioni, sar calcola le tariffe e il rapporto di queste richieste per scoprire le aree dei colli di bottiglia.
La cosa principale del sar è che riporta tutte le attività in un periodo di tempo. Quindi, assicurati che i dati vengano raccolti in orari appropriati (non all'ora di pranzo o nel fine settimana. :)
13. Di seguito è riportato un comando di base per invocare sar. Verrà creato un file denominato "sarfile" nella directory corrente. Le opzioni "-u" servono per i dettagli della CPU e raccoglieranno 5 rapporti a un intervallo di 2 secondi.

14. Nell'esempio precedente, abbiamo invocato sar in modo interattivo. Abbiamo anche un'opzione per invocarlo in modo non interattivo tramite cron utilizzando gli script /usr/local/lib/sa1 e /usr/local/lib/sa2 (se hai utilizzato /usr/local come prefisso durante l'installazione).
- /usr/local/lib/sa1 è uno script di shell che possiamo utilizzare per pianificare cron che creerà un file di registro binario giornaliero.
- /usr/local/lib/sa2 è uno script di shell che cambierà il file di registro binario in un formato leggibile dall'uomo.
Utilizza le seguenti voci Cron per renderlo non interattivo:
Run sa1 shell script every 10 minutes for collecting data

Nel back-end lo script sa1 chiamerà l'utilità sadc (System Activity Data Collector) per recuperare i dati a un intervallo particolare. sa2 chiamerà sar per modificare il file di registro binario in un formato leggibile dall'uomo.
15. Controlla la lunghezza della coda di esecuzione, il numero totale di processi e il carico medio utilizzando l'opzione "-q".
